The Benefits of Quitting Smoking
One can safely assume that everyone who smokes
is definitely aware of the many risks of doing so: lung cancer, leukemia,
heart and stomach diseases, skin conditions and many other fatal afflictions
are all well known for almost every smoker. However, especially among
people in their mid-thirties or younger, the harmful health conditions
caused by cigarette are not obviously apparent, which leads them to
question, and even sometimes ironically disregard the benefits of quitting
smoking.
And this is exactly one of the greatest risks of smoking: that most
of its effects take a long time to show on our bodies, and when they
do, it is usually already too late.
But our bodies are amazingly resilient and, unless you really let things
go out of control, there is always a chance to quit and even recover
from most of cigarettes’ devastating effects.
In fact, our bodies’ recovery capabilities are so grand that within
just a couple of weeks of quitting smoking we can already feel substantial
improvements on our health condition. All of a sudden almost by magic,
our circulation improves, we can walk for far longer distances and breathing
becomes a lot easier. All of these in just a little more than a couple
of weeks of being “cigarette-less.”
And what about if you simply don’t want to stop
smoking or you just find it way too difficult to quit all of a sudden?
Well then there are many options available that can replace smoking
in the meantime, like nicotine patches or nicotine gum. However, none
of them are as effective as electronic cigarettes.
Electronic cigarettes are small, personal vaporizers that share the
size, shape and function of traditional cigarettes. They are made of
a battery, a mouthpiece and a vaporizer, which function is to emit a
small spark in order to “vaporize” a light nicotine solution housed
inside a cartridge located beneath the mouthpiece. Once the smoker “puffs”,
he or she absorbs the mist generated by the vaporizer, which can come
in a wide array of flavors.
Now, since they only use a small nicotine solution, electronic
cigarettes avoid the more than 60 heavily addictive toxins and chemicals
present in their traditional counterparts. The result is a product whose
impact to our health is almost imperceptible. On top of that, electronic
cigarettes provide smokers with an experience that is almost indistinguishable
from “real” smoking, which brings a sense of reassurance to the process
of quitting. A sense that other alternate methods do not achieve.
